17 Best Instagram Spots in Singapore (With a Map)

I most recently visited Singapore with a friend on our way home from Thailand and Cambodia in January. Even with limited time (we had about 30 hours in the city for one full day and night), we managed to hunt down some of the best Instagram spots in Singapore, and I quickly realized the city is packed with incredible places to take photos. Between historic neighborhoods, futuristic gardens, and one very impressive airport waterfall, the variety of Singapore photo spots kept us busy from morning until well after dark.

Some of the best Instagram spots in Singapore are easy to stumble across, while others take a little bit of planning or patience. A few are tucked into parks or neighborhoods you might not otherwise explore, which honestly makes them even more fun to find. Throughout this guide, I’m sharing my favorite Singapore photo spots, along with practical tips on what to expect and everything you need to know to snag the best photos.

1. Masjid Sultan

Sultan Mosque is easily one of the best Instagram spots in Singapore, and it’s the highlight of the Arab Quarter. The mosque dates back to 1824 and was built for Sultan Hussein Shah, making it one of the most important religious landmarks in the area. Its massive golden dome and detailed architecture stand out against the streets around it. My favorite photo was framing the mosque through one of the nearby archways, which adds a nice layered look to your shot.

A quick travel tip? Make sure you download an eSim for your phone in advance so you can easily navigate around Singapore and order taxis via Grab. It makes getting from one spot to another incredibly easy!

When to Visit: Early morning before the area gets crowded.

2. Water Lily Pond Viewpoint

The Water Lily Pond at Gardens by the Bay turned out to be my favorite view of Marina Bay Sands. Sitting on the large rock in the pond gives you a surprisingly perfect angle of the famous hotel towers rising in the background. There were no signs saying you couldn’t sit there when we visited, so I carefully walked across a few flat stones and climbed on up. Out of all the best Instagram spots in Singapore, this one felt like a hidden gem and one of the most relaxed Singapore photo spots we found.

When to Visit: Anytime. We went in the afternoon and had it to ourselves.

3. Jewel Rain Vortex

The Jewel Rain Vortex might be the most impressive airport feature I’ve ever seen. At 130 feet tall, it’s the largest indoor waterfall in the world, and somehow it’s located right inside Singapore Airport! I’ve spent plenty of time in airports over the years, but none of them had something that made me stop and stare like this. It easily earns its spot among the best Instagram spots in Singapore.

One of the best things about this location is how convenient it is. You don’t even need a boarding pass to visit Jewel (one section of Singapore Airport), so anyone can come see the waterfall, though I’d recommend trying to time it either after you land or before you take off for convenience. The area is free to enter, although a few nearby attractions inside Jewel charge admission. For travelers with a layover like we had, it’s one of the easiest Singapore photo spots to add to your itinerary.

My favorite angle was from the platform between levels 2 and 3 near Adidas and Sanook Kitchen. From there, you get a clean view of the waterfall surrounded by greenery and glass architecture. The water flows between 10 AM and 10 PM, so make sure you time your visit. Check up to date hours for the Jewel Rain Vortex, including the light & music showcase here. Among the best Instagram spots in Singapore, this one may be the most unforgettable.

When to Visit: During Rain Vortex operating hours. Be patient and you’ll eventually get a clear shot.

4. Tan Teng Niah

The former home of Tan Teng Niah is easily one of the most colorful Instagram spots in Singapore. Built in 1900, this two-story Chinese villa is the last surviving example of its kind in Little India. Its bright exterior and intricate details make it stand out among the surrounding buildings. As Singapore photo spots go, it’s one of the most cheerful places we visited.

Look closely and you’ll notice small details like gilded Chinese calligraphy and ornate window frames. The house itself is compact but incredibly photogenic. I also loved wandering around the area afterward because Little India is full of colorful shops and street scenes. If you have time in your itinerary, sign up for a 4-hour Chinatown, Little India, and Arab Street Walking Tour to really explore the area!

When to Visit: Earlier in the day for fewer crowds, but it doesn’t have to be at the crack of dawn.

5. Garden Rhapsody Light Show

The Supertree Grove hosts the Garden Rhapsody light show every evening, and it was definitely one of my favorite experiences in the city. Shows happen at 7:45 PM and 8:45 PM, and the giant Supertrees light up while music plays. My friend and I joined everyone lying on the ground looking straight up at the giant Supertrees, and I would absolutely recommend the experience.

The show lasts about 15 minutes and the themes change regularly. It’s completely free, which still amazes me considering how impressive it is. Among the best Instagram spots in Singapore, this is one of the most memorable at night. If you’re interested in learning more about the themes in advance, check out the Gardens by the Bay official site.

When to Visit: During the evening light show.

6. Mirror Maze

The Mirror Maze inside Singapore Airport (Jewel area) is a fun addition to the list of best Instagram spots in Singapore. It’s exactly what it sounds like, a maze of mirrors that creates reflections and interesting angles for photos. My friend and I spent way too long laughing while trying to figure out which hallway was real. It’s one of those Singapore photo spots where you don’t take yourself too seriously. And make sure you don’t attempt to run or you may end up with a face full of mirror!

When to Visit: During Mirror Maze opening hours.

7. Selegie Arts Center

The wedge-shaped Selegie Arts Centre stands out immediately thanks to its bright rows of colored window panels. The building itself is a three-story landmark and a small arts hub. I love architecture shots, and this is easily one of the more creative Instagram spots in Singapore.

8. Peranakan Houses

The Peranakan houses are some of the best Instagram spots in Singapore. These colorful shophouses blend Chinese, Malay, and European architectural styles. Many of them date back to the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

Walking through this neighborhood feels like stepping into a preserved piece of Singapore’s past. While a lot of the city center has a sleek modern skyline, these homes add historical character. As far as Singapore photo spots go, these houses provide a colorful contrast to the futuristic buildings.

When to Visit: Anytime. We were there midday and our main challenge was shooting between cars. Have your photographer on one side of the street while you stroll down the other side, and time shots between passing cars.

9. Haji Lane

Haji Lane is one of the liveliest Instagram spots in Singapore thanks to its street art and colorful storefronts. The alley is packed with boutique shops, cafés, and colorful murals. It’s a place where every few steps you’ll see another photo opportunity.

The atmosphere is energetic and creative, which makes it one of the more fun Singapore photo spots to wander. My friend and I kept stopping every few minutes because another wall caught our attention. Just don’t expect to have it to yourself.

When to Visit: Early morning before crowds arrive.

10. Fort Canning Tree Tunnel

The tree tunnel at Fort Canning Park is one of the best Instagram spots in Singapore. The spiral staircase framed by massive trees creates a dramatic circular view that photographers love. It looks simple, but logistically it requires a bit of patience.

First off, this is an active staircase in a popular park, so you’ll have pedestrians walking up and down. Second, this is a recognizable photo spot, so you have other tourists also trying to grab a photo. People line up nicely for their turn to take a photo, which I appreciated. I’m not usually a fan of waiting in photo lines, but this one felt worth it. I absolutely love how the photo turned out!

When to Visit: Early morning to beat the crowds.

11. Singapore Flyer Viewpoint

Walking along the Marina Bay waterfront gives you a great view of the Singapore Flyer. The massive wheel stands 42 stories high and is the third-largest observation wheel in the world. From the ground, it makes a really unique addition to the skyline.

You can ride the Flyer for panoramic views that stretch as far as Malaysia and Indonesia on clear days. Even without going up, this is one of the best Instagram spots in Singapore. The wide sidewalk also makes it one of the easiest Singapore photo spots to photograph…plenty of real estate for all of the photographers!

When to Visit: Anytime.

12. Old Hill Street Police Station

The Old Hill Street Police Station is famous for its rows of rainbow-colored windows. Built in 1934, it originally served as a police station and barracks, and today it now houses government offices. The building is massive, so it’s easy to photograph from across the street even if there are multiple groups of people trying to snag a shot.

Traffic frequently blocks the view, but every few minutes there’s a gap. When it clears, grab your shots quickly. It’s a fun example of the colorful architectural Singapore photo spots you can see around the city.

When to Visit: Anytime, just time your photos around cars. If you’re trying to avoid any people in your photo on the other side of the street, you’ll have to come early. I didn’t mind people in the distance, so was fine in the middle of the day.

13. Marina Bay Sands Viewpoint

Marina Bay Sands is one of the most recognizable buildings in Asia. The three towers connected by the rooftop SkyPark look really futuristic in person. Walking along Dragonfly Lake gives you one of the best views of the hotel. It’s no surprise that this is one of the best Instagram spots in Singapore. The boardwalk makes it easy to frame the building with the water and skyline.

When to Visit: Anytime.

14. Canopy Park

Located on the top level of Jewel Changi Airport, Canopy Park includes slides, gardens, and whimsical installations. Canopy Park Admission gives you access to areas like the Petal Garden, Foggy Bowls, and Topiary Walk. My favorites were the Petal Garden and the Topiary Walk, which were really creative and colorful. I mean, how cute is the photo of the purple elephant fountain? I was obsessed!

When to Visit: During Canopy Park opening hours.

15. Garden Rhapsody Viewpoint

There are lots of angles for photographing the Supertrees, but my favorite was from the second-story walkway overlooking the grove. From here, you get a clean view without standing in the middle of the crowd. It quickly became one of my personal picks for the best Instagram spots in Singapore.

We arrived a couple hours before sunset to give ourselves plenty of time to explore the gardens. It gave us a few hours to check out the highlights of the area before the light show started. For iconic Singapore photo spots, this viewpoint worked perfectly.

When to Visit: Anytime. We went in the afternoon and it was quiet on the second story walkway, though it was definitely busy on the ground floor.

16. Sang Nila Utama Garden

Sang Nila Utama Garden inside Fort Canning Park recreates what royal gardens may have looked like in 14th-century Singapore. The space is designed with symmetry, reflecting pools, and sculptural gates inspired by Southeast Asian architecture. Walking through it was nice and peaceful compared to some of the other busier areas of the city.

This garden is one of the more unexpected Instagram spots in Singapore. The Japanese-style split gates are especially photogenic and make for a nice shot.

When to Visit: Anytime. It wasn’t busy when we visited during the day.

17. Singapore Flyer & Supertrees Combo Viewpoint

One of my favorite photos combined the Singapore Flyer and the glowing Supertrees in a single frame. From the Dragonfly Lake boardwalk, you can capture both landmarks lit up together around the time of the evening light show. You can see why it’s one of the best Instagram spots in Singapore!

Logistically, we watched the first light show lying under the Supertrees in the main grove. Then we walked over to the boardwalk during the second show an hour later to grab this shot (and snagged a few others on our way out, as well). Among nighttime Singapore photo spots, this one really stands out.

When to Visit: During the Garden Rhapsody light show if you want to get the full experience.
